Job summary

PSI in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Process Engineer to optimize chemical manufacturing processes, run plant trials, and evaluate equipment for reliability and cost improvements. This role requires collaboration across Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to deliver process improvements and capital projects.

You will lead process design, perform PHA activities, and mentor technicians while upholding SHE standards in a safety-critical plant environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• 1–5 years of process engineering or similar experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with chemical processes and process equipment preferred.
• Apply chemical engineering principles to troubleshooting, optimization, and design.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analysis activities.
• Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and propose practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform process optimization studies, plant trials, and technical evaluations of existing chemical manufacturing processes.
• Develop process design recommendations and engineering scope for improvements and capital projects.
• Support engineering assignments for capital projects and operations initiatives.
• Evaluate problems, select methods, and develop design recommendations.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analyses and other safety activities.
• Prepare calculations, documentation, and project deliverables.
• Provide technical leadership to engineers and technicians.
• Support on-time delivery within schedule and budget.
• Troubleshoot equipment and improve reliability with operations and maintenance teams.
