Job summary

County of Lancaster is seeking an Intake Support Specialist to work within the Adult Probation and Parole Services Intake Unit. The role involves interviewing probationers and parolees, determining court-ordered conditions, and entering data into APPS while coordinating with treatment providers and related agencies.

The position emphasizes independent work, sound judgment, and clear communication with clients, judiciary, and staff.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to high school graduate; associates degree or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in the criminal justice context.
• Strong communication, record-keeping, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Interview newly sentenced or paroled individuals to explain requirements and obtain agreement to rules.
• Determine if special conditions are ordered and facilitate referrals.
• Enter sentence computations, special condition data, and expiration dates into APPS.
• Maintain responsibility for cases where clients are under supervision but not reporting.
• Complete transfer packets for clients outside the county.
• Perform related duties as required.
