Job summary

The position includes monitoring offenders and assisting with treatment groups and detention alternatives. Under supervision, you will handle data entry, maintain case files, and interact with judges, officers, and attorneys.

Qualifications

• Basic principles of human behavior and applied psychology.
• Advanced interviewing techniques.
• Basic court and arrest procedures.
• Basic research and investigative methods/procedures.
• Principles and practices of written and oral communication.
• General computer operations.
• Knowledge of California Penal Code, Vehicle Code, Welfare and Institutions Code.

Responsibilities

• Monitors assigned probation and/or Pretrial caseloads to ensure adherence to conditions.
• Interviews clients and/or criminal defendants to obtain accurate and necessary information.
• Verifies information by contacting references, researching databases, and contacting agencies.
• Prepares complete and accurate reports, court/legal forms, summaries and other documents; maintains case files.
• Responds to inquiries from judges, officers, attorneys regarding defendants; facilitates probable cause hearings.
• Assists in the set-up, maintenance, and monitoring of offenders released on electronic monitoring.
• Co-facilitates or assists in offender Evidence Based treatment groups.
• Supervises alternatives to detention programs.
