Job summary

Orthopedic One is seeking a Patient Scheduling Specialist in Ohio to manage patient appointments by phone, verify patient information, and coordinate with physicians. The role includes EMR data entry, referral processing within 24 hours, and handling scheduling tasks such as injections and cancellations.

A strong focus on accuracy and professional communication with offices and patients is required. Experience in medical office environments and familiarity with EMR systems are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Medical office experience with EMR system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers calls from scheduling queue to schedule patient appointments.
• Uses physician protocols, insurance information, and patient preference to determine scheduling approach.
• Calls patients to reschedule appointments as assigned.
• Ensures correct patient identification.
• Communicates with physician offices and notifies for add-ons and cancellations.
• Performs data entry in EMR for patient demographics, referral source, and other required information.
• Schedules injections and other tasks as assigned; manages voicemails and returns calls.
• Processes outgoing mail and inbound/outbound faxes; completes duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Processes referrals within 24 hours of receipt; documents scheduling attempts and reports results to supervisor; informs referring provider offices of scheduling progress.
