Job summary

Centerpoint Medical Center is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist PRN to join its Imaging Services team. You will perform sonography procedures under radiologist direction, including routine and interventional studies, with cross training for vascular work.

The role requires graduation from an accredited radiologic/sonography program, ARRT/ARDMS eligibility, and a willingness to obtain RVT within 12 months. Expect patient care across age groups and a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology and/or School of Sonography.
• ARRT and/or ARDMS registry eligible required upon hire; RVT registration within 12 months.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year hospital department experience in medical sonography including biopsies.
• Cross-training for vascular studies completed prior to performing unsupervised studies.

Responsibilities

• Perform Ultrasound procedures as ordered and per protocol.
• Perform ultrasound-guided biopsies and various centesis procedures.
• Perform ultrasound vascular procedures after cross training.
• Maintain working knowledge of each ultrasound system in the department.
• Be a team builder and team player.
• Interact with customers in a pleasant, positive and courteous manner.
• Participate in Performance Improvement and Quality Control.
• Follow policies and procedures and infection control guidelines.
• Comply with JCAHO, state and other regulatory agencies.
• Care for birth to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Complete documentation in patient and departmental records; clean equipment and maintain safety practices.
