Job summary

University Health is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to operate ultrasound equipment, produce high quality diagnostic images, and assist in guiding invasive procedures. The incumbent will cover department activities in the absence of senior staff and uphold the system's patient-centered protocols and service standards.

The role requires specialized education in ultrasound, relevant ARDMS/ARRT registrations, and several years of experience to meet the clinical ladder criteria for Ultrasound

Qualifications

• Satisfactory graduation from a two year ultrasound program, or completion of an Associates Degree with additional in-services/training in advanced Doppler ultra-sonography procedures or graduation from antwo year Ultrasound program or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be registered in at least two of the following categories: Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in abdomen, obstetrics, other, ARRT, or another modality (RT, CT, MRI, Mammography, or other) or have one registry and two letters of recommendation from a staff Radiologist (abdomen section). Bachelor's degree only requires one registry.
• Must have at least three (3) years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist I.
• Must meet all other Ultrasound Technologist II clinical ladder criteria.

Responsibilities

• Operates ultrasound equipment to produce high quality diagnostic images.
• Guides diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures and supports department operations in the absence of senior staff.
• Supports protocol adherence and excellent customer service initiatives.
