Job summary

Research Medical Center is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform routine sonography and interventional procedures under the Radiologist's direction. The role includes biopsies, vascular studies, and cross-training across ultrasound systems.

Schedule includes evenings, with no call or weekends. The candidate must have an accredited radiology or sonography education, ARRT/ARDMS eligibility, RVT registration within 12 months, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program and/or School of Sonography.
• Two-year Radiology Technology program or four-year BA plus sonography training/clinical requirements.
• ARRT and/or ARDMS registry eligible required upon hire.
• ARDMS and RVT registration required within 12 months of hire.
• BLS Certification from AHA or Red Cross required within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one-year hospital department experience in medical sonography including biopsies.

Responsibilities

• Perform Ultrasound procedures as ordered and per protocol.
• Perform Ultrasound-guided biopsies and various centesis procedures.
• Perform Ultrasound vascular procedures with prior cross-training.
• Maintain working knowledge of each Ultrasound system in the department.
• Be a team builder and team player.
• Interact with customers in a pleasant, positive, and courteous manner.
• Participate in Performance Improvement and Quality Control.
• Follow policies and procedures manuals and infection control practices.
• Comply with regulatory and accreditation standards including JCAHO.
• Care for birth to geriatric patients across age groups.
• Complete documentation in patient and departmental records, and ensure equipment cleanliness and safety.
