Job summary

The position requires graduation from an approved Respiratory Therapy Program and active licensure in Texas, with BLS and ACLS within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• 1 year of Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.
• Initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line and department.

Responsibilities

• Operates and sets up devices such as ventilators and gas administration equipment following treatment parameters.
• Provides emergency care including artificial ventilation and CPR support as needed.
• Collects and analyzes arterial blood gases and interprets results to guide therapy.
• Monitors patient response to therapy using vital signs and ABG values; adjusts treatment as directed.
• Follows physician orders for treatment type, mode, and duration; ensures safety precautions.
• Collaborates with physicians, nurses and other staff to adjust the patient care plan.
