Job summary

Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner to assess, treat and care for patients with pulmonary disorders. The role involves clinical administration of respiratory care modalities and coordination with the care team to optimize outcomes.

You will operate ventilators, provide emergency care, analyze arterial blood gases, follow physician orders and monitor responses to therapy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• 1-year previous Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.
• Must possess a current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Texas Medical Board.
• Must possess a current credential as an NBRC RRT or CRT.
• BLS upon hire and ACLS certification required within 90 days of employment.
• PALS and/or NRP within 90 days if required by department.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat and care for patients with pulmonary disorders.
• Administer respiratory care modalities and follow department parameters.
• Operate devices like mechanical ventilators and aerosol generators.
• Provide emergency care including artificial ventilation and CPR support.
• Monitor patient responses using arterial blood gases, vitals, and pulse oximetry.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and health care team on care plans.
