Job summary

Hugh Chatham Health, Inc. is seeking a part-time Patient Access Registrar to support patient flow in Cabarrus NC's Emergency Department and related areas. This PRN role requires flexible hours and attention to accurate registration, insurance verification, and patient service.

The coordinator will greet patients, collect demographics, verify coverage, and explain costs while upholding our AIDET standards and Department policies. Prior experience in patient access or billing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Typing speed and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of web-based systems and data entry.
• Must be able to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge patients and families; provide information about services.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect applicable co-pays and co-insurance.
• Pre-register and register patients using ADT systems with accurate demographic data.
• Explain billing concepts and patient financial responsibilities per policy.
• Maintain knowledge of billing regulations and in-network coverage requirements.
