Job summary

Akumin is actively seeking a PRN MRI Technologist for our North Florida facilities. The role involves producing cross-sectional MRI images for diagnostic interpretation, administering contrast per policy, and coordinating with licensed practitioners to ensure high-quality studies.

The position requires ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification as allowed, a valid state license, and 3+ years of technologist experience. Flexible scheduling and coverage across sites are essential to this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification as allowable by contract in lieu of ARRT
• State license, if applicable required.
• CPR Certification, BLS from AHA or ARC. ACLS where applicable.
• Valid state driver's license, as applicable required.
• Minimum 3 years technologist experience.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational, multi-tasking, and critical thinking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• Local travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications, restricting patients, staff, and visitor access related to zones, screening, equipment, and exam scanning as deemed necessary.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images in accordance with imaging protocols and standards.
• Effectively communicates with customers and radiologists; maintain confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Demonstrate competency in contrast safety and administration, including IVs and vascular access.
• Train and orient new technologists and assistants on site or remotely.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.
