Job summary

Akumin is seeking a PRN MRI Technologist to perform MRI procedures and produce high quality diagnostic images in a magnetic field. The technologist analyzes data for diagnosis at the request of a licensed practitioner and administers contrast per policy, coordinating with EMR, PACS and DICOM systems.

The role requires ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification, state licensure as applicable, CPR/BLS, and a minimum of three years of technologist experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification as allowable by contract.
• State license, if applicable.
• CPR Certification, BLS from AHA or ARC; ACLS where applicable.
• Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
• Minimum 3 years technologist experience.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational, multi‑tasking, and critical thinking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications.
• Local travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality diagnostic images in accordance with imaging protocols and standards.
• Be responsible for patient safety, including pre‑screening and access control during exams.
• Effectively communicate with radiologists and staff; maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Demonstrate competency with EMR, PACS and DICOM systems for image sharing and interpretation.
• Train and orient new technologists and MR Technologist Assistants as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.
