Job summary

Marathon Health in Carlsbad is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support a primary care physician and deliver patient‑centered care. You will take vitals, draw blood, give injections, assist with procedures, and coordinate with the care team to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of MA experience, graduation from a formal MA program, CPR/BLS certification, and MA certification or registration where required. Phlebotomy experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
• Graduation from an MA program required.
• National or state MA certification preferred; required where applicable.
• CPR/BLS certification required at start date.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure rooms are stocked.
• Take vitals, draw blood, give injections, and assist with procedures.
• Prepare medications and assist with immunizations per provider orders.
• Coordinate with the care team to address gaps in care.
• Front desk duties: scheduling, records requests, referrals, check‑in/out.
• Document data in the medical record and communicate results.
• Participate in outreach to engage eligible patient groups.
• Maintain supplies and equipment for treatments.
