Job summary

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our care team. The MA will support a primary care physician, perform clinical duties and support front desk tasks to ensure a smooth patient experience.

We value a minimum of 1 year in primary care, MA program completion, and CPR/BLS certification. Phlebotomy is preferred, and we offer comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
• National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
• MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required.
• CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to room and ensures exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
• Reviews previous medical information and gathers updated health data.
• Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures.
• Work with contracted labs for additional tests.
• Prepares and administers approved medications and immunizations as directed.
• Partners with care team to develop patient care plan and address gaps in care.
• Front desk duties including scheduling, record requests, and referrals.
• Records data in the medical record per guidelines.
• Process test results and notify patients promptly.
• Engage patients through outreach to improve engagement.
