Job summary

Helms Home Care is seeking a PRN infusion-focused registered nurse for in-home visits in Gaithersburg, MD. The role requires performing catheter access, administering medications, vitals, and patient education, with prompt documentation of notes.

Candidates must hold an active RN license and have at least 1 year of infusion therapy or catheter care experience. Reliable transportation and driver insurance are required for multiple home visits per week.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license with competence in the duties described above.
• Minimum 1-year experience in infusion therapy and/or catheter maintenance and care.
• Reliable transportation, access to a printer/scanner/fax machine.
• Must be able to communicate promptly with our scheduling personnel.
• Expect to do 2 visits per week.
• Licensed driver with valid automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• As per the Patients needs perform catheter access & care (peripheral IVs, port-a-caths, PICC/central lines), vitals/assessments, medication administration (Abx, TPN, IVIG, and other specialty meds), blood draws.
• Provide patient education on self-administration of medication.
• Make visit notes through electronic charting and submit promptly.
