Job summary

Helms Home Care in Alexandria, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide in-home infusion therapy on a PRN basis. Responsibilities include catheter access, medications, vitals, and patient education, with visits scheduled to fit patient needs.

The ideal candidate has an active RN license, at least 1 year of infusion therapy experience, reliable transportation, and the ability to communicate promptly with scheduling staff.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license with competence in infusion duties described.
• Minimum 1 year experience in infusion therapy and/or catheter maintenance and care.
• Reliable transportation and access to required equipment (printer/scanner/fax).
• Must be able to communicate promptly with scheduling personnel.

Responsibilities

• Perform catheter access & care (peripheral IVs, port-a-caths, PICC/central lines), vitals/assessments, medication administration (antibiotics, TPN, IVIG, and other specialty meds), blood draws.
• Provide patient education on self-administration of medication.
• Submit visit notes through electronic charting promptly.

• Expect to do 2 visits per week
• Licensed driver with valid automobile insurance
