Job summary

Homestead Health Care is seeking Private Duty caregivers in the Commerce Township, MI area. You will provide physical and emotional support to elderly clients, perform daily living tasks, and accompany clients to appointments, with 4 to 12-hour flexible shifts and competitive starting pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience.
• Experience passing medications.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Valid Driver License and auto insurance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation and travel up to 25 miles.
• Weekend availability required.

Responsibilities

• Use transfer assistive devices (e.g., Hoyer lifts, sit-to-stand, gait belts, slide board).
• Assist residents with daily living activities (transfers, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, walking).
• Evaluate changes in client health and confer with the healthcare team as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of the environment and light housekeeping.
• Use and clean devices (catheters, colostomy bags, oxygen).
• Assess changes in condition and communicate with supervisor.
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities.

Our current client is looking for assistance from 630pm-1030pm.

Responsibilities

• Use of transfer assistive devices, including but not limited to Hoyer lifts, sit to stand, gait belts and slide board
• Assisting residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and walking
• Evaluate changes in client’s health, conferring with other healthcare team members as needed
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping
• Use and cleaning of devices such as catheters, colostomy bags and oxygen supplies
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities
• Following schedule, assisting residents with repositioning
• Transport client to doctors’ appointments or shopping
• Complete all required documents and charting
• Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals
• Provide companionship for the client
• Follow all Homestead policies

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience
• Experience passing medications
• Able to pass a criminal background check
• Valid Driver License/Insurance
• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• Travel Max of 25miles
• Weekend Availability
