Job summary

Homestead Health Care is hiring Private Duty caregivers in the Livonia, MI area. 4–12 hour flexible shifts are available, with pay starting at $18.00 per hour.

You will visit clients’ homes to provide physical and emotional support, build connections, and assist with daily activities. Required are at least 2 years of caregiving experience, medication administration, a valid driver's license/insurance, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience.
• Experience passing medications.
• Valid Driver License/Insurance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with transfers, mobility, daily living activities.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Ensure health changes are communicated to supervisors.
• Maintain cleanliness and light housekeeping.
• Transport clients to appointments and run errands.
• Prepare nutritious meals and aid with planning.
• Complete documents and charting as required.
• Follow Homestead policies and procedures.
• Transport client to appointments or shopping.

Responsibilities

• Use of transfer assistive devices, including but not limited to Hoyer lifts, sit to stand, gait belts and slide board
• Assisting residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and walking
• Evaluate changes in client’s health, conferring with other healthcare team members as needed
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping
• Use and cleaning of devices such as catheters, colostomy bags and oxygen supplies
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities
• Following schedule, assisting residents with repositioning
• Transport client to doctors’ appointments or shopping
• Complete all required documents and charting
• Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals
• Provide companionship for the client
• Follow all Homestead policies and procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience
• Experience passing medications
• Able to pass a criminal background check
• Valid Driver License/Insurance
• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• Travel Max of 25miles
• Weekend Availability
