Job summary

Homestead Health Care is hiring for Private Duty caregivers in the Auburn Hills, MI area. The role involves supporting elderly clients in their homes with both physical and emotional care, building meaningful connections and ensuring comfort.

Shifts are flexible from 4 to 12 hours, with current clients requiring evening coverage. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour, with opportunities for growth and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience.
• Experience passing medications.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Use transfer assistive devices (Hoyer lifts, sit-to-stand, gait belts, slide board).
• Assist residents with daily living activities (transfers, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, walking).
• Evaluate health changes and inform supervisor or care team.
• Maintain cleanliness and light housekeeping.

Our current client is looking for assistance from 630pm-1030pm.

Responsibilities

• Use of transfer assistive devices, including but not limited to Hoyer lifts, sit to stand, gait belts and slide board
• Assisting residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and walking
• Evaluate changes in client’s health, conferring with other healthcare team members as needed
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping
• Use and cleaning of devices such as catheters, colostomy bags and oxygen supplies
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities
• Following schedule, assisting residents with repositioning
• Transport client to doctors’ appointments or shopping
• Complete all required documents and charting
• Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals
• Provide companionship for the client
• Follow all Homestead policies and procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience
• Experience passing medications
• Able to pass a criminal background check
• Valid Driver License/Insurance
• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• Travel Max of 25miles
• Weekend Availability
