Job summary

Homestead Health Care is hiring private duty caregivers to support elderly clients in Clinton Township, MI. This role offers 4–12 hour flexible shifts, with starting pay at $18.00 per hour, and opportunities for growth through training and advancement.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, medication administration, and providing companionship while maintaining documentation and following company policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience.
• Experience passing medications.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Valid Driver License/Insurance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Travel max of 25 miles.
• Weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Use of transfer assistive devices (Hoyer lifts, sit-to-stand, gait belts, slide board).
• Assist residents with ADLs (transfers, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, walking).
• Evaluate health changes and communicate with healthcare team.
• Maintain cleanliness of environment; light housekeeping.
• Use and cleaning of devices such as catheters, colostomy bags, and oxygen supplies.
• Assess changes in condition and report to supervisor.
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities.
• Follow schedule; assist with repositioning.
• Transport client to appointments or shopping.
• Complete documents and charting.
• Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals.
• Provide companionship.
• Follow Homestead policies and procedures.
