Job summary

Homestead Health Care is hiring Private Duty caregivers to support elderly clients in Commerce Township, MI, with 4–12 hour shifts. The role starts at $18.00 per hour and offers flexible scheduling and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience.
• Experience passing medications.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Valid Driver License and auto insurance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation and travel up to 25 miles.
• Weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Use transfer assistive devices (Hoyer lifts, sit-to-stand, gait belts, slide board).
• Assist residents with daily living activities such as transfers, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and walking.
• Evaluate changes in client health and confer with the care team as needed.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the environment including light housekeeping.
• Use and clean devices such as catheters, colostomy bags and oxygen supplies.
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate to supervisor.
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities.
• Follow schedule and assist residents with repositioning.
• Transport client to doctors’ appointments or shopping.
• Complete required documents and charting.
• Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals.
• Provide companionship for the client.
• Follow all Homestead policies.
