Job summary

Homestead Health Care in Novi, MI is hiring for Private Duty caregivers to support elderly clients in their homes. We offer 4-12 hour flexible shifts and start pay at $18.00 per hour, with opportunities to grow. Experience working in clients' homes is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience.
• Experience passing medications.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Valid Driver License/Insurance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Travel max of 25 miles.
• Weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Use transfer assistive devices (Hoyer lifts, sit to stand, gait belts and slide board).
• Assist residents with daily living activities (transfers, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, walking).
• Evaluate changes in client health and confer with the healthcare team as needed.
• Maintain a clean environment including light housekeeping.
• Use and clean devices such as catheters, colostomy bags, and oxygen supplies.
• Assess changes in condition and communicate to supervisor.
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities.
• Follow schedule and assist with repositioning.
• Transport client to appointments or shopping.
• Complete all required documents and charting.
• Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals.
• Provide companionship for the client.
• Follow all Homestead policies and procedures.
