Job summary

Homestead Health Care is seeking a Private Duty caregiver in the Canton, MI area. You will provide both physical and emotional support to elderly clients, offering companionship and assistance with daily living activities in clients' homes. Flexible shifts from 4 to 12 hours with a starting rate of $18.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience.
• Experience passing medications.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Valid Driver License/Insurance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Travel Max of 25 miles.
• Weekend Availability.

Responsibilities

• Use of transfer assistive devices and mobility aids.
• Assist residents with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, transfers).
• Evaluate changes in client health and communicate with the healthcare team.
• Maintain a clean environment, light housekeeping as needed.
• Use and clean medical devices and supplies (catheters, colostomy bags, oxygen).
• Plan and provide nutritious meals; transport to appointments or shopping.
• Provide companionship and follow Homestead policies and procedures.

Our current client is looking for assistance from 630pm-1030pm.

Responsibilities

• Use of transfer assistive devices, including but not limited to Hoyer lifts, sit to stand, gait belts and slide board
• Assisting residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and walking
• Evaluate changes in client’s health, conferring with other healthcare team members as needed
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping
• Use and cleaning of devices such as catheters, colostomy bags and oxygen supplies
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities
• Following schedule, assisting residents with repositioning
• Transport client to doctors’ appointments or shopping
• Complete all required documents and charting
• Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals
• Provide companionship for the client
• Follow all Homestead policies and procedures

Requirements
