Job summary

BDO USA's Private Client Services offers tax compliance and consulting to high net-worth individuals and families. A Tax Experienced Associate will leverage education and experience to serve clients with complex tax and financial structures.

In this role you will participate in engagements, prepare diverse returns, perform tax research, and collaborate with managers and other service lines to deliver tailored solutions. Exceptional communication and time-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, required, OR Bachelor’s degree in other focus area and CPA certification, required
• Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation, preferred
• One (1) or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience, preferred

Responsibilities

• Participates in tax and consulting engagements and develops skills identifying and addressing client needs
• Works with managers and clients to identify and gather information needed to prepare tax returns
• Prepares individual, trust, estate, S-Corp, foundation, partnership, and gift tax returns, both Federal and State jurisdictions, while demonstrating the ability to follow instructions and actively seek feedback
• Provides tax research support for PCS leadership
• Analyzes tax notices received from government agencies and proposes a solution or response
• Works in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment both independently and within a team dynamic
• Prioritizes and completes tasks
• Collaborates and builds relationships with other service lines and other subject matter professionals both inside and outside the firm
