Job summary

Citizens Bank is seeking a Private Bank Lending Specialist to lead underwriting and execution of complex residential mortgage and home equity transactions for Private Bank clients. You will evaluate income, assets, and ownership structures, prepare clear credit recommendations, and coordinate with internal partners through closing.

You will apply strict policy guidelines, ensure quality control, and maintain proactive communication with Relationship Managers and clients to deliver timely

Qualifications

• Three+ years of residential mortgage underwriting, processing, credit analysis, or equivalent lending experience.
• Ability to analyze complex tax returns, investments, trusts, and liquidity profiles.
• Strong knowledge of residential mortgage credit, collateral, title, appraisal, disclosure, and closing requirements.
• Experience with mortgage origination systems and underwriting workbooks; Empower or EPIC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial underwriting review and prepare a clear credit recommendation.
• Evaluate income, assets, liquidity, liabilities, and ownership structures to assess repayment ability.
• Apply Private Bank Credit Policy and mortgage guidelines consistently.
• Document approach, calculations, conditions, and approved methodologies in systems and workbooks.
• Coordinate with relationship managers and partners to drive loan setup, appraisals, disclosures, and closing readiness.
• Maintain proactive communication, surface risks early, and ensure timely, accurate decisions.
