Job summary

Cox Automotive seeks a Privacy Governance Senior Manager to lead a team of privacy engineers and drive the privacy program across the enterprise. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years in a related field.
• Experience operating within or leading a privacy compliance program.
• Working knowledge of U.S. state privacy regulations.
• Experience with CMPs, cookie governance, and web tracking compliance operations.
• Technical understanding of web tracking technologies and consent signal architecture.
• Strong cross-functional communication and influencing skills.
• Strong program management skills in complex, matrixed organizations.
• 10%+ travel requirement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of privacy engineers and ensure operational excellence across CMP, cookie scanning, and privacy library maintenance.
• Serve as the technical SME for privacy engineering, providing guidance to direct reports.
• Maintain technical depth to support continuity and reduce key-person risk.
• Oversee privacy tech stack including CMPs, tag systems, cookie scanning, and data inventories.
• Evaluate vendor capabilities and contribute to build/buy decisions for privacy tech.
• Partner with Data Strategy and Engineering to integrate privacy-enhancing tech into systems and workflows.
• Execute privacy compliance activities and act as central SME across federated teams.
• Advance privacy program initiatives including risk assessments, data flow documentation, and third-party reviews.
• Monitor privacy risk and drive corrective actions to resolution.
• Develop and maintain privacy program standards, processes, and documentation.
• Lead onboarding for brands and acquisitions into centralized privacy infrastructure.
• Assess data practices and regulatory obligations of brands and acquisitions.
• Drive technical integration of brands onto centralized consent management and privacy library infrastructure.
• Develop onboarding playbooks scalable across acquisition types and brand structures.
• Interface with Privacy Legal, Data Strategy, Engineering, and Product to advance program objectives.
• Advise on privacy-by-design for new products and third-party integrations.
• Translate technical privacy concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide privacy requirements guidance throughout the design and development lifecycle.
• Promote adoption of privacy standards through engagement and change management.
• Resolve cross-functional disputes autonomously in the best interest of Cox Automotive.
