Job summary

Cox Automotive seeks a Privacy Governance Senior Manager to lead a team of privacy engineers and advance the company’s privacy program. You will drive CMP operations, cookie governance, and privacy library maintenance, partnering with Legal, Data Strategy, Engineering, and Product to embed privacy by design across the development lifecycle. The role requires strategic oversight, vendor evaluation, and autonomous decision-making in a fast-paced enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 8 years' experience; alternative combinations also acceptable.
• Experience operating within or leading a privacy compliance program.
• Working knowledge of U.S. state privacy regulations.
• Experience with consent management platforms, cookie governance, and web tracking compliance operations.
• Technical understanding of web tracking technologies including tag management systems, cookies, and consent signal architecture.
• Strong cross-functional communication and influencing skills with stakeholders across legal, engineering, product, and executives.
• Strong program management skills with a track record in complex, matrixed organizations.
• 10%+ travel requirement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of privacy engineers, ensuring operational excellence across CMP operations and cookie governance.
• Provide architectural guidance and technical SME input for privacy engineering initiatives.
• Maintain technical depth to support continuity and reduce key-person risk.
• Oversee privacy tech stack including CMP, tag management, cookie scanning, and data inventory tooling.
• Evaluate vendor capabilities and contribute to technology investment decisions.
• Partner with Data Strategy and Engineering to integrate privacy technologies into enterprise systems.
