Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Privacy Governance Senior Manager to lead the privacy engineering program, managing a team of privacy engineers responsible for CMP operations, cookie governance, opt-out mechanisms, and privacy library maintenance. This role partners with Privacy Legal, Data Strategy, Engineering and Product to embed privacy-by-design throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 8+ years of privacy experience.
• Experience operating within or leading a privacy compliance program.
• Working knowledge of U.S. state privacy regulations.
• Experience with consent management platforms and cookie governance.
• Technical understanding of web tracking technologies and tag management.
• Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder influence.
• 10%+ travel requirement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of privacy engineers, ensuring operational excellence across CMP, cookie scanning, and privacy library maintenance.
• Serve as technical SME for privacy engineering, providing guidance to reports.
• Oversee privacy technology stack and vendor assessments.
• Partner with Data Strategy and Engineering to integrate privacy-enhancing tech.
• Execute and monitor privacy compliance activities across the enterprise.
• Lead onboarding for brands and acquisitions into centralized privacy program.
• Interface with Privacy Legal, Data Strategy, Engineering, and Product stakeholders to advance program objectives.
• Translate technical privacy concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Drive adoption of privacy standards and resolve cross-functional disputes autonomously.
