Job summary

Intuit in New York is seeking a Corporate Counsel, Privacy Compliance to help mature our global privacy program. Reporting to the Head of Privacy Regulatory Compliance on the Data Privacy team, you will proactively assess legal risk and provide practical guidance on the responsible use of data, partnering with engineering and product teams to build scalable compliance processes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant legal experience (in-house and/or at a law firm).
• Strong working knowledge of US state and federal privacy laws (e.g., CCPA/CPRA, GLBA) and familiarity with GDPR and other international frameworks.
• Experience building, running, or maturing privacy programs.
• Technologically adept, with working fluency with AI and emerging technologies.
• Comfort engaging directly with technical stakeholders on data flows, system design, and engineering trade-offs — you don’t need to write code, but you need to be conversant with those who do.
• Proven ability to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical, scalable policies, frameworks, and guidelines.
• A learning mindset and comfort operating in ambiguity as laws and technology continue to evolve.
• Concise and efficient communicator.
• JD and membership in good standing with at least one US State Bar.

Responsibilities

• Manage privacy risk and impact assessments (PIA) program, including governance, workflows, and compliance with CCPA’s automated decision making regulations.
• Own and evolve Intuit’s data subject rights (DSR) compliance program across the US and globally, ensuring processes meet requirements under CCPA/US state privacy laws, GDPR, and other applicable international frameworks.
• Drive continuous improvement of privacy compliance tooling and processes, including automation opportunities for PIAs, risk assessments, and DSR fulfillment.
• Advise on the application of privacy-by-design principles (data minimization, purpose limitation, transparency, and customer choice) to new and evolving technologies.
• Act as a trusted privacy subject matter expert to cross-functional teams and provide actionable guidance and advice to enable smart risk.
• Translate complex and changing privacy regulations into practical, scalable policies, frameworks, and training for cross-functional partners.
• Monitor the global regulatory landscape, including emerging AI-specific privacy and data protection laws, and translate developments into program updates.
• Build strong working relationships across Legal, Product, Engineering, and Business teams, and drive alignment across competing points of view to reach practical outcomes.
