Job summary

GFT is seeking a Principal Transmission Line Engineer to join our Power Business Group. The role offers hybrid work options for multiple U.S. locations, with remote possibility for the right candidate.

You will lead and oversee transmission line designs, using PLS-CADD and other software, while guiding project discussions with clients and internal teams. Strong technical writing and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/ Electrical/ Structural Engineering.
• 15+ years of transmission line design experience.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEEE, NEC and related standards.
• PLS-CADD proficiency; PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead transmission line design projects and mentor engineers and technicians.
• Prepare construction packages with structure details, material lists, staking tables and plan profiles.
• Estimate project costs, resources, labor and schedules; manage deadlines.
• Write and review specifications per industry standards and codes.
• Travel to client sites for project definition and execution; support business development.
