Job summary

GFT is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join our Power Business Group. The role offers hybrid work options across multiple U.S. locations, with remote work possible for the right candidate.

You will lead transmission line projects, provide expert guidance, and collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver reliable, efficient energy infrastructure. The position requires a Civil/Electrical/Structural engineering degree and 4+ years of transmission line design experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 4+ years of experience in transmission line design.
• In-depth knowledge of NESC, IEEE, and other applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission line segments using PLS-CADD or similar tools.
• Develop design criteria documents and construction specifications.
• Prepare construction packages with structure details, material lists, staking tables, plans and profiles, and stringing charts.
• Estimate project costs, resources, labor and materials with realistic deadlines.
• Write, modify and review specifications per NESC, IEEE, NEC and industry standards.
• Conduct feasibility and routing studies and EMF calculations for project planning.
• Oversee project implementation and verify foundations and equipment installation.
