GFT is actively seeking a Sr. Transmission Line Engineer to join our Power Business Group. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement in several U.S.
locations, with remote option for the right candidate. You will lead transmission line project designs, develop criteria and specifications, and coordinate with clients and internal teams on feasibility studies, routing, and cost estimation. Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Electrical/Structural Engineering degree, 7+ years in transmission line
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- 7+ years of experience in transmission line design.
- Proficiency with NESC, IEEE, NEC and related standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee transmission line project designs as subject-matter expert.
- Design transmission line segments using PLS-CADD and prepare construction packages.
- Estimate project costs, resources, and schedules; develop criteria documents and specs.
- Review specifications to comply with industry standards and codes.
- Support project planning with feasibility and routing studies; mentor junior staff.
- Travel to client sites for definition and execution phases.
