Jacobs is seeking a Principal Substation Engineer to lead design deliverables for utility and developer projects, focusing on AIS/GIS substations and interconnections. You will interface with clients, deliver designs on time and within budget, and guide senior team members across North America and globally.

You will mentor junior engineers, review vendor specs, and contribute to the energy transition portfolio, including offshore wind facilities and transmission projects.

Qualificações

• 5 years of direct Substation design experience with utility or consulting organization
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of High Voltage substation components (GIS, transformers, breakers, disconnects)
• Experience developing substation designs from conceptual through IFC drawings
• Familiarity with grounding, lighting, and lightning protection for substations
• Ability to perform substation AC/DC Station Service calculations and studies (voltage drop)
• Experience developing and reviewing equipment vendor specifications and QA/QC of designs
• Experience with CAD platforms such as AutoCAD or Bentley; prior Owner's rep experience is a plus

Responsabilidades

• Interface with utility/developer clients to develop Substation design deliverables
• Develop and review substation designs fully and independently for projects on-time and within budget
• Mentor junior staff and develop training modules for the group
• Support sales and proposal efforts and ensure high-quality project delivery to clients
