Job summary

Jacobs Energy & Power Group seeks a Principal Substation Engineer to lead substation design for transmission & distribution projects in North America, including GIS/AIS, offshore wind, and interconnection facilities. You will interface with clients to develop deliverables and act as a technical advisor on owner’s interests.

You will mentor teams, oversee QA/QC, and coordinate with regional/global delivery teams to support energy transition initiatives while maintaining on-time, on-budget

Qualifications

5 years of direct Substation design experience with utility or consulting organization.
Advanced knowledge of High Voltage substation components and equipment.
Experience developing designs from conceptual through IFC drawings.

Responsibilities

Interface with utility/developer clients to develop Substation design deliverables.
Mentor junior staff and develop training modules for the group.
Support sales and proposal preparation for new contracts and ensure delivery quality.
Deliver projects on time and within budget; provide engineering oversight as needed.
