Job summary

Aureos in Massachusetts is seeking a Principal Primary Design Engineer for our Energy division to lead substations design on clean energy projects. You will coordinate with site teams, review tender information, and ensure designs meet project timelines and KPI targets.

The role requires extensive experience in substations design, CAD and BIM tools, and a Chartered engineer status is desirable. We offer a supportive environment, strong learning opportunities, and a generous compensation package.

Qualifications

HNC/HND or equivalent as minimum; BSc/BEng preferred.
IEng or CEng chartership desirable.
Experience in CAD tools and BIM environment.
5+ years in substations design; 8+ for Senior; 12+ for Principal.
Knowledge of HSE statutes.
Knowledge of electrical works standards and regulations.
Knowledge of transformers, switchgear, batteries, cabling, earthing and lighting standards.

Responsibilities

Actively drive safety by design and contribute to hazard review meetings.
Carry out site surveys and coordinate work with site teams as required.
Review and propose concept and base designs based on tender information.
Design and review general arrangement diagrams, substation layouts, earthing layouts, and cable routes.
Create design and equipment technical specifications.
Ensure delivery of designs on time and to KPI targets.
