Job summary

Blue Origin on Merritt Island, FL, seeks a Principal Structural Analyst to lead detailed structural analysis of pumps, heat exchangers, valves, radiators, cold plates, LADs, and docking systems for lunar transport hardware. You will perform static/modal/fatigue analyses, apply first principles, and ensure GD&T and environmental test compliance.

You will collaborate with product teams, present results to stakeholders, and guide analysis across mechanical systems critical to lunar missions.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• 15+ years in structural analysis with modal, random vibration, static structural, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
• Experience as Structural Integrity Lead or Analysis Lead.
• Strong first principles understanding of analysis fundamentals.
• Ability to develop innovative solutions with evolving requirements.
• Excellent communication of status and concepts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed structural analyses of thermal/fluid and mechanical systems and assemblies using classical methods and FEM.
• Perform static structural, modal, random vibration, fatigue and damage tolerance analyses.
• Apply first principles to solve complex structural problems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align analysis with project goals.
• Use 3D CAD (Creo preferred) and FEA tools for analyses and closed-form solutions.
• Ensure compliance with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and environmental testing requirements.
• Prepare and present technical reports and analysis results to stakeholders.
