Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Field Engineer to support external customers, troubleshoot defenses, and oversee installation of the CITV system. You will travel CONUS and interface with the home office for repairs and upgrades.

The role requires DoD Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, and a strong background in electronic equipment maintenance, training customer personnel, and documenting maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 2+ years.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance (DoD Secret).
• Field engineering / FSR experience maintaining electronic equipment.
• Experience with subsystems utilized in the U.S. Army’s M1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tank.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and interface with external customer.
• Troubleshoot system problems and oversee repairs under direction from the home office.
• Test, inspect, and repair the CITV system during installation and platform testing.

• Analyze equipment failures, determine causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Advise and assist with design changes to improve equipment efficiency or reduce operating costs.
• Devise and implement preventive maintenance programs.
• Oversee retention of equipment performance and maintenance records.
• Participate in installation planning.
• Oversee installation, checkout, operation, maintenance/repair, and modification of equipment.
• Travel within CONUS as required.

Job description

Requirements

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years’ experience


• U.S. citizenship required


• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance


• Active and existing DoD Secret security clearance required after day 1


• Field Engineering / FSR experience maintaining electronic equipment


• Experience with subsystems utilized in the U.S. Army’s M1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tank


• Excellent technical writing, oral communication, and computer skills preferred


• Direct experience with the CITV system/program preferred


• Some CONUS travel required


• Not relocation eligible
