Job summary

Jobtailor in Lincoln, MA seeks an experienced systems engineer to lead technical planning, system integration, verification and validation across weapon system programs.

You will translate user requirements into system requirements, perform trade studies, and develop specifications while supporting cost and schedule constraints. A TS/SCI clearance and DoD engineering experience are required.

Qualifications

  • 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience
  • Must have an active TS/SCI
  • Understanding of DoD and Air Force engineering/scientific principles, processes and procedures
  • Ability to translate user requirements into weapon system requirements
  • Ability to support design, development, fabrication, testing and evaluation of weapons systems, subsystems and equipment
  • Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances
  • Lifting and moving materials may be required
  • Previous experience supporting Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
  • Analyze systems across concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal stages
  • Convert customer or product requirements into total systems solutions within technical, schedule and cost constraints
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies
  • Assist with technological and trade-off assessments of proposed designs and modifications
  • Translate user requirements into system requirements for designing, developing, fabricating, testing and evaluating systems and subsystems
  • Produce or review technical evaluations and plans, engineering studies, reports and analyses, and acquisition strategies/plans
  • Support project team meetings, working groups and technical reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, TCM, TIM, FCA and PCA
  • Analyze equipment and software deficiencies, recommend corrections, and assist with developing, integrating and testing solutions
  • Support avionics system design, design feasibility and state-of-the-art assessments
  • Develop systems and subsystem specifications and provide technical advice regarding hardware and software installation
  • Support performance, cost, life-cycle cost, producibility, maintainability, supportability, reliability, technical risk and schedule risk assessments and trade-off studies
