Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead base to complex projects in a matrix environment. The role emphasizes safe, economical project delivery, clear communication with stakeholders, and ongoing improvements to increase value.

You will oversee plans, budgets, and staffing, while guiding teams through Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Travel is expected, with on-site collaboration across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree requirement with 3 years qualified experience for PM Associate role; or 5+ years for PM Senior/Principal as applicable.
• Experience in outage management, business/financial administration, major construction field experience, project estimating, controls, and construction contracting.
• Knowledge in construction safety, scope development and control, cost estimating, and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate assigned project activities.
• Develop and coordinate project plan, schedule, budget, tools, and staff.
• Communicate project details and status updates to stakeholders; lead planning meetings and updates.
• Develop working relationships with customers, partners, vendors, and team members; promote customer satisfaction.
• Coach and develop team members; manage procurement plans and outside contracts; ensure closeout aligns with objectives.
