Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Principal, Product Management for a remote role in the United States. You will lead content standards work, taxonomy design, and the production workflow modernization across business units.

You will partner with content leaders to shape strategy, governance, and measurable outcomes aligned with learner needs. You will guide senior PMs and cross-functional teams, build AI-enabled content capabilities, and drive the development of a unified content spine.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of product management experience in content, publishing, or content platform domains.
• Hands-on ownership of content standards work: taxonomy and metadata design, quality frameworks.
• Experience with authoring, production, and delivery platforms (CMS, DAM, LCMS, XML-based content systems) and at least one consolidation or migration.
• Built and shipped substantive content systems work as owning PM, including with current AI tooling.
• Experience in empowered product team models with outcome-focused planning.
• Track record in continuous discovery and translating into outcomes for content.
• Proven ability to redesign production workflows and prove productivity/quality gains.
• Experience coaching other PMs and leaders.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to engage technical and senior business audiences.
• Comfortable switching between hands-on execution and coaching.

Responsibilities

• Embed standards spine inside real business unit work: global data quality, V1 taxonomy, metadata accuracy.
• Redesign and shorten production workflows, removing handoffs and rework.
• Partner with content leaders to develop strategy, planning, and craft, including tough stakeholders.
• Guide teams to high-quality plans and content strategy traceable to learner jobs and outcomes.
• Design and deliver training anchored in Pearson’s content problems.
• Contribute to the content job family and community of practice.
• Build AI fluency across content talent with practical applications.
• Identify manual content tasks to automate, prototype solutions, prove value.
• Bring evaluation, telemetry, and human-in-the-loop design to AI-assisted content generation.
• Maintain a clear POV on where AI helps or harms content work.
• Role model collaboration with product, engineering, design, and editorial.
