Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Senior Principal Product Manager/Strategist to lead content standards, taxonomy, and AI-enhanced workflows across business units. You will sit with content teams, rebuild production workflows, and elevate the quality and measurability of content programs.

You will influence senior content PMs and leaders, build practical training, and advance a unified content platform strategy with strong collaboration across product, engineering, and editorial teams.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of product management experience in content, publishing, or content platform domains, with technical depth.
• Hands‑on ownership of content standards work: taxonomy and metadata design, quality frameworks, structured content, and measurements.
• Direct experience with authoring, production, and delivery platforms (CMS, DAM, LCMS, XML-based content systems), including at least one consolidation or migration.
• Built and shipped substantive content systems work as owning PM, including with current AI tooling, in the last 12–18 months.
• Experience in empowered product team models where outcomes drive ownership, with value-centric planning (QBRs or roadmaps).
• Rigorous continuous discovery, both generative and evaluative, translating to content outcomes.
• Experience redesigning production workflows to improve productivity or quality.
• Experience coaching other PMs/leaders without alienation.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical and senior audiences.

Responsibilities

• Implement the standards spine inside real business unit work with global quality data and metadata accuracy.
• Redesign and shorten production workflows, removing handoffs and rework.
• Partner with content leaders to align strategy, planning, and craft.
• Align plans with learner jobs and business outcomes, from MRDs to PRDs and specs.
• Design and deliver training anchored in real content problems.
• Contribute to content job family and community of practice.
• Build AI fluency across the content talent base with practical, applied approaches.
• Identify manual tasks to automate and prove value before scaling.
• Incorporate evaluation and telemetry into AI-assisted content generation and QA.
