Job summary

Pearson is seeking a senior product manager/strategist to lead embedded content standards work and redesign production workflows with the content teams. You will model taxonomies, metadata schemas, and build AI-enabled content tools in collaboration with editorial and engineering partners.

You’ll guide PMs and leaders, drive continuous discovery, and champion outcomes over deliverables, shaping the content architecture and training programs across Pearson’s content groups.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of product management experience in content, publishing, or content-platform domains.
• Hands‑on ownership of content standards work: taxonomy and metadata design, quality frameworks, structured content.
• Experience with authoring, production, and delivery platforms (CMS, DAM, LCMS, XML-based).
• Built and shipped substantive content systems work as owning PM, including with current AI tooling.
• Experience in empowered product team models where outcomes matter more than deliverables.
• Leadership in continuous discovery to translate learnings into outcomes for content.
• Experience coaching PMs and leaders without alienation.
• Strong written and verbal communication with technical and senior audiences.

Responsibilities

• Implement the standards spine inside real business unit work with global quality data standards.
• Redesign and shorten production workflows with producers to reduce handoffs and rework.
• Collaborate with content leaders through strategy, planning, and craft, including challenging stakeholders.
• Guide teams to high-quality plans and content strategy tied to learner jobs and business outcomes.
• Design and deliver training anchored in real content problems at Pearson.
• Contribute to the content job family and career architecture across the community of practice.
• Build AI fluency across the content talent base in a practical, applied way.
• Identify manual content tasks worth automating and prototype automation with measurable value.
• Bring evaluation, telemetry, and human-in-the-loop design to AI-assisted content generation and quality assurance.
