Job summary

Oracle's NRB team seeks a Principal Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and maintain production software powering OCI network deployment and lifecycle management. You will own services from architecture to deployment, collaborating with networking, infrastructure, and platform teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical experience.
• Strong software engineering experience in Python, Java, Go, or Rust.
• Experience designing scalable APIs, distributed systems, and SOA.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and modern practices.
• Experience building and operating production engineering platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production software powering OCI network deployment and lifecycle management.
• Build and evolve engineering platforms, APIs, automation services, and operational systems for OCI's global network.
• Own software solutions from architecture to deployment, operations, and improvement.
• Develop scalable automation using modern programming languages and practices.
• Partner with Network, Infrastructure, and Network Automation teams to deliver scalable software.
• Design and implement resilient, observable, and highly available platform services.
• Improve platform reliability, scalability, performance, and efficiency.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, testing, workflows, and release processes.
• Troubleshoot production software, infrastructure, and networking across distributed systems.
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to NRB engineering architecture.
• Develop technical documentation, standards, runbooks, and best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software development while ensuring quality.
• Mentor engineers through leadership, reviews, and best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement by simplifying operations via software and automation.
