Job summary

Oracle’s NRB team seeks a Principal Software Development Engineer to design, build, and operate software powering OCI network deployment and lifecycle management from architecture to deployment.

You will collaborate across Network, Infrastructure, and Network Automation to deliver reliable, scalable platforms and automation workflows while mentoring engineers and shaping long-term engineering strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong software engineering experience in Python, Java, Go, or Rust.
• Experience designing scalable APIs, distributed systems, and SOA.
• Design architectures for modularity, extensibility, and long-term sustainability.
• Experience building and operating production engineering platforms.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production software for OCI network deployment and lifecycle management.
• Build and evolve engineering platforms, APIs, automation services, and operational systems.
• Own software solutions from architecture through deployment and operations.
• Develop scalable automation using modern programming languages and practices.
• Partner with Network, Infrastructure, and Network Automation teams to craft scalable software.
• Design and implement resilient, observable, and highly available platform services.
• Improve platform reliability, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment workflows, and release processes.
• Troubleshoot production software, infrastructure, and networking issues across distributed systems.
• Lead technical design discussions and shape NRB engineering platforms’ long-term architecture.
• Develop technical documentation, standards, runbooks, and operational best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software development and debugging.
• Mentor engineers through technical leadership and code reviews.
• Drive continuous improvement by simplifying operations via software and automation.
