Job summary

Oracle’s Network Region Build (NRB) team seeks a Principal Software Development Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable software powering OCI’s global network. You’ll own platforms from architecture to deployment, collaborate with network and infra teams, and drive automation across large distributed systems.

You’ll leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate development, maintain observability, and mentor engineers while delivering high-availability platform services for OCI regions and AI

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• Strong software engineering experience with Python, Java, Go, or Rust.
• Experience designing scalable APIs and distributed systems.
• Architecture design emphasizing modularity and maintainability.
• Experience building and operating production engineering platforms.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern practices.
• Experience supporting Linux-based production environments.
• Experience designing highly available, observable systems.
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production software for OCI network deployment and lifecycle management.
• Build platforms, APIs, automation services, and operational systems for OCI’s global network.
• Own software solutions from architecture to deployment and operations.
• Develop scalable automation using modern programming languages.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and best practices.
• Lead architectural discussions and contribute to NRB platform design.
• Improve platform reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release processes.
• Troubleshoot production software, infrastructure, and networking issues.
• Drive continuous improvement and simplify operations via automation.
