Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to design and advance software powering OCI’s global network infrastructure. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• Strong software engineering experience in Python, Java, Go, or Rust.
• Experience designing scalable APIs, distributed systems, and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience building and operating production engineering platforms.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern software development practices.
• Experience supporting Linux-based production environments.
• Experience designing highly available, observable systems.
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production software supporting OCI network deployment and lifecycle management.
• Build and evolve engineering platforms, APIs, automation services, and operational systems that enable OCI’s global network infrastructure.
• Own software solutions throughout their lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to deployment, operations, and continuous improvement.
• Develop scalable automation using modern programming languages and software engineering practices.
• Partner with Network Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, and Network Automation teams to transform operational challenges into scalable software solutions.
• Design and implement resilient, observable, and highly available platform services.
• Improve platform reliability, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, deployment workflows, and release processes.
• Troubleshoot production software, infrastructure, and networking issues across distributed systems.
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to the long-term architecture of NRB engineering platforms.
• Develop technical documentation, engineering standards, runbooks, and operational best practices.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate software development, testing, debugging, documentation and operational workflows while applying sound engineering judgment and validating all outputs.
• Mentor engineers through technical leadership, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify operations through software and automation.
