Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Principal or Sr. Principal Mechanical Engineer for the Sentinel program in the SDS Division, based in Roy, Utah. You will join a multi-disciplinary team to design mechanical hardware, models, and documentation that support critical design reviews.

The role requires a STEM degree with significant experience, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Occasional travel and a strong focus on CPLM/NX tooling are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM with 5+ years of related experience or a Master’s with 3+ years.
• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
• Experience CAD modeling with Siemens NX or similar.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Hardware teams to design systems.
• Apply ASME processes to identify, design, and procure hardware.
• Support design of integrated assemblies to meet requirements and diagrams.
• Create design artifacts and 3D models in CPLM/NX tools.
• Coordinate inputs in a multi-disciplinary environment to support design reviews.
