Job summary

Axon is seeking a Principal Hardware Systems Architect to own system architecture and cross-disciplinary technical decisions for mass-produced hardware, including RF, electrical, mechanical, and thermal domains.

You will partner with EE, RF, SW, and ME leads to define requirements, drive cross-functional decisions, and ensure the device meets production-grade standards and regulatory certifications.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hardware engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in at least two of EE, RF, ME; strong third.
• Experience owning system architecture for complex hardware from concept to mass production.
• Experience with EVT/DVT/PVT and certification processes.
• Familiarity with hardware design and lifecycle tools (Altium, CAD, RF test equipment).

Responsibilities

• Define and drive system architecture and engineering standards for Axon 911 hardware.
• Collaborate with EE, RF, SW, and ME leads to set requirements and drive cross-functional decisions.
• Lead design reviews and ensure production-ready integration of subsystems.
• Own verification, validation planning and risk mitigation at system level.
• Navigate regulatory Certification strategies across US and international standards.
