Job summary

Axon is seeking a Principal Hardware Systems Architect to own system architecture across electrical, RF, mechanical, thermal, and power domains. You will lead as a founding leader within Axon 911 hardware, defining standards and engineering processes for production-ready devices.

You will collaborate with EE, RF, SW, and ME leads to align requirements, drive cross-functional decisions, and ensure integration from concept to mass production with a focus on robust regulatory certification across

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hardware engineering experience across multiple domains.
• Ability to own system architecture and cross-disciplinary decisions.
• Experience taking compact, battery-powered hardware from concept through mass production.
• Familiarity with RF/antenna integration, power architecture, and thermal management.
• Experience working with ODM/JDM or contract manufacturers.

Responsibilities

• Own system architecture and technical integration across electrical, RF, mechanical, thermal, and power domains.
• Define standards, architecture, and processes for production-ready hardware.
• Lead cross-functional design reviews and secure stakeholder alignment.
• Develop system requirements and validation plans with traceability.
• Partner with manufacturing teams on DFM/DFA and certification strategies.
