Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) seeks an Associate Principal or Principal Geotechnical Engineer to expand our geotechnical practice companywide.

If you enjoy solving complex problems with engineering judgment beyond codes, you belong on our team. The role may be based in any WJE office across the continental United States, with responsibilities spanning project management, technical leadership, and staff mentorship.

Qualifications

• Licensed Geotechnical Engineer in relevant state(s).
• Master's degree or PhD in geotechnical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 20 years of relevant industry experience (25+ preferred).
• Ability to lead project teams and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Project management including client development, scoping, team assembly, schedules and budgets, and client expectations.
• Technical leadership applying engineering judgment and codes; serve as SME across WJE projects; oversee field work and client deliverables.
• Mentorship within local and company-wide teams, on- and off-project guidance and career development.
• Contribute to geotechnical practice and company objectives; attract and engage clients; share knowledge and training.
